Nusselt Number

Theory & Logic

Theoretical Background

Physics describes the fundamental mechanism of the universe. The Nusselt Number is an essential tool for understanding Nusselt Number in quantitative terms. Calculate Nu = (h * L) / k.

Mathematical Formulation

The relationship between the variables is governed by the following equation:

Result = (h × l) ÷ k
Eq 1.1: Governing Formula

Variable Legend

Symbol Parameter Unit
h Conv Coeff (h) W/m²K
l Char Length m
k Thermal Cond W/mK

Practical Calculation Example

Problem

Calculating the result when:

  • Conv Coeff (h) = 20 W/m²K
  • Char Length = 45 m
  • Thermal Cond = 100 W/mK

Solution

Substituting into Eq 1.1:

Result = (20 × 45) ÷ 100
