Relativistic Mass

Theory & Logic

Theoretical Background

Physics describes the fundamental mechanism of the universe. The Relativistic Mass is an essential tool for understanding Relativistic Mass in quantitative terms. Calculate m = m0 / sqrt(1 - v²/c²).

Mathematical Formulation

The relationship between the variables is governed by the following equation:

Result = m0 ÷ √(1 - (v×v)÷(299792458×299792458))
Eq 1.1: Governing Formula

Variable Legend

Symbol Parameter Unit
m0 Rest Mass kg
v Velocity m/s

Practical Calculation Example

Problem

Calculating the result when:

  • Rest Mass = 85 kg
  • Velocity = 100 m/s

Solution

Substituting into Eq 1.1:

Result = 85 ÷ √(1 - (100×100)÷(299792458×299792458))
