Estimates based on 40 hours/week.
Our free Salary Converter helps you seamlessly translate your income into different frequencies. Whether you are negotiating a new job offer that pays hourly, or budgeting your monthly expenses based on an annual salary, this tool provides instant clarity.
Quick Start: Simply enter your current pay amount, select whether it is per Hour, Week, Month, or Year, and the calculator does the rest.
The standard calculation assumes a full-time scheduled of 40 hours per week for 52 weeks a year.
The Formula:
Annual Salary = Hourly Wage × Hours per Week × 52 Weeks
Example:
If you make $25/hour:
$25 × 40 = $1,000 per week
$1,000 × 52 = $52,000 per year
Note: This is "Gross Income" before taxes. Your "Net Income" (take-home pay) will be lower after federal and state taxes.
Most companies pay employees either Bi-Weekly (every two weeks) or Semi-Monthly (twice a month).
Calculating based on Bi-Weekly pay usually gives slightly smaller checks than Semi-Monthly, but you get two "extra" checks a year (months with 3 paydays).
Salary is just one part of your compensation package. When comparing job offers, remember to consider:
Paid vacation and sick days have real monetary value.
Employer contributions to premiums saves you thousands.
Free money for your retirement.
Performance or signing bonuses add up.
A standard full-time year is 2,080 hours (40 hours × 52 weeks).
Salaries offer stability and often come with benefits, but hourly workers are typically eligible for overtime pay (1.5x) if they work over 40 hours.
